Our philosophy is that we cannot achieve true beauty in our jewellery if we aren’t creating something ethical and sustainable. Our pieces are made supporting local artisans in Jaipur, Rajasthan to continue in their way of life and share their artistry with the world. The artisans who help create our collections have carried down their skills for generations and each piece you buy is helping to support a dying art in traditional handmade gold jewellery. It is a million miles away from the generic jewellery you get from factories!
Our stones and gold are ethically sourced and mined, and our materials are fully traceable to ensure that our legacy is jewellery created with kindness to the environment and the people who helped make it.
We wouldn’t be anywhere without our thriving community of makers behind the scenes. These craftspeople are central to the STJ family. They are all committed to fair pay, safe working environments, unbiased and equal treatment of all, and rigorous environmental care every step of the way.
our gold
We use solid, 18kt gold, fully authenticated and hallmarked by the UK Assay Office. Our pure gold is purchased from VALACAMBI SUISSE. Valacambi have been at the forefront of promoting responsibly mined and sourced gold since 1961. We use Valcambi GreenGoldTM, a product unique to Valcambi since 2008. It’s orgin is fully documented and independently validated.

our gemstones
We purchase all our gemstones from fully traceable and ethically mined sources, and all gemstones are bought in India. Om Prakash is our main stone supplier and has been working dealing gemstones in Jaipur, India for many years. He now runs a small workshop in Sanganer, just outside Jaipur and specialises in carving gemstones alongside his small team of workers.

Our people are at the heart of STJ, all working together in safe working environments to produce the jewellery to the highest and ethical standards.
Amongst our small team, we have specialist goldsmiths, stone supplies and threaders who all have years of experience between them.
our packaging
All our packaging is easy to recycle, safe for individuals and the environment, and is made from fully recycled materials. We use recycled cardboard for our boxes and bags and ethically produced silk in our pouches. We aim to use materials and manufacturing practices with minimal impact on energy consumption and natural resources.
